Youth Exercise Class
Don’t let your young athletes waste their days behind a screen! Here at the Foley Fitness Youth Exercise Class, we five founding principles: Safety, Respect, Leadership, Performance and Injury Prevention. We make sure all our protocols are science based and not more than your athlete can handle. Not to mention after every session we end with tug of war and dodge ball. Classes are every Friday from 5:30-6:30! First class is on the house.
(Classes are limited to 8 participants to ensure safety and effectiveness.)
Safety
We are committed to the safety of all our participants by making sure all necessary precautions are taken to ensure a safe and effective workout environment.
Respect
There’s no getting around it, respect is a key component of a successful athlete and teammate. All participants will give and be shown respect. Period.
Leadership
Opportunities will be given to the participants to lead certain drills at times to allow the building of confidence and comradery.
Performance
We aim to improve performance by trying to make the class as applicable to your athlete’s sport as possible. While this can be tricky at times due to the variety of sports, a few basic principals stand true. A strong core in combination with powerful/ mobile hips will significantly increase upper and lower body stability. This combination helps get athletes to the next level!
(We also offer small group classes with specific sport training to further increase their sport-specific skills and strength.)
Injury Prevention
Injury prevention is one of the key reasons we started this class. After coaching football and seeing so many avoidable injuries, we knew we had to do something. A large emphasis is put on proper movement mechanics and a solid mind to body connection. This means when your athlete is instructed to do a particular exercise they will know exactly what they should be feeling, and if something isn’t “feeling right” to adjust or ask for assistance. We base our practices on building stability and balance before strength and power to ensure your athlete has a rock solid foundation.
